FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
Brilliant, simply brilliant....
Although the mp3 player is plastic and not metal,as it may appear to be on the picture, the build quality of the machine is suprisingly good, considering it is plastic that is. It is very easy to use and has more useful functions that you would expect from a player of this price, such as a wide range of repeat functions (including "repeat folder" function). It has small features that are too small to mention in the online description but are still very nice to have, such as the "Equalizer" and the "Visualiser" (this enables you to select how the music levels are displayed). I have had it for good few weeks now and im STILL listening to it constantly, EVEN when Im in the house and could just actually play the music!!!! It takes less than 15 minutes to charge up. Although the radio on it doesnt have the strongest reception, it is still good enough to listen to a wide enough range of stations (besides, the recption in my area isnt very good anyway, so this could be to blame!). The ONLY downside ive found is that it is a bit fiddely to change the play order of the tracks if you only have Windows 98 :-( But this is the ONLY downside and ive thought long and hard about this review (as you might of guessed) and it really and truely is THE ONLY BAD POINT!!!!!!!!!!!! Very good machine, thoroughly satisfied with it

Another Creative Hit - Pros And Cons
What a success! I had ordered an OracOm 200m thinking that it was the best of the 256mb range. I shortly found after ordering and waiting for 5 WEEKS that AMAZON had mistakenly cancelled my order. But I was still determined to find a 256mb with better abilities and i found the Creative Labs Rhomba. I waited 2-3 days and it arrived. After fiddling around with it for 10mins reading the manual, I figured out how it worked. I zoomed upstairs and plugged it straight into the USB port on my computer and started my new life in digital music. I have now had the creative labs Rhomba for 2 days and its great but there are a few minors:

Pros:

Great Quality Music with no skipping
Quick charging time of around 10 minutes, which can stay for about 14hours
Loads of storage space 120wma or 60mp3
Hold button so no buttons get pressed in your pocket
Stylish silver design
about 1 minute to download 1 album (12 songs)
Radio clear with presets
Radio can be recorded for ages
Voice can be recorded for ages
Quality Earphones
Volume at half its capibility is quite loud
Easy Software with no drivers, just drop and drag

Cons:

When I first plugged in my Rhomba to my computer it froze but i quickly resolved this by constantly pressing and holding the on/off button for 1 minute and it hasnt froze on me again since.
Radio aerial is a bit rubbish on some stations.
It didnt take some of my WMA files off my own albums on windows media player.
neck strap makes it get caught in the headphones but i resolved this by taking the neck strap off.
If you go on holiday it has to be charged up by a computer and who would bring a computer on holiday but i resolved this by buying an external charger off the internet for around £30.
No new battery but you dont need one.
Dont loose the USB cable because you cant get another one.
Plastic casing in which it is packaged is made so once youve ripped it open you cant send it back for a refund.

But you dont need a refund because it is the best mp3 player in the world its light and stylish, a great and easy gadget for all ages

hope my advice was helpful!

To those nice people at Creative Labs ...
This would be a 5 star review if the player bought new in December had not had more down time than all the rail companies in the UK!

Lets be clear, the sound quality, thanks to the customizable EQ and good volume, is very impressive for the MP3 player and the radio. File tranfer is easy and quick using the Creative Media Source Organising software.

Im familiar with PCs and audio and I treat the kit with gloved hands having read (honestly!) the manual. Why then, did I have to re-install the firmware after 2 weeks? Its not on
the CD, so I used Creatives Help WWW site and got them to send it. They are very prompt and helpful. Then after a couple of weeks of occasional use the unit went dead. No error messages, no handshake with the PC, just silence and darkness from the display. Im still waiting for a reprieve. Or, a new unit which I have yet to be offerred.

I was going to up-grade to a Creative Zen 30gig unit. Im not going to use Creative again for obvious reasons. They need to note there are many alternatives with good reviews. Grrr!
